Artists:

Adrian Mackiewicz. A true Renaissance man of music, violinist, orchestral and choral conductor, executive and artistic director, arranger, educator, and chamber musician, Adrian Mackiewicz began his musical education at the age of 5 at the local elementary music school in his home town of Gdynia, Poland. At the age of 11 he placed first at the regional Auditions for Young Violinists in Gdynia. At that time he began to perform concerts and recitals, which eventually took him to Switzerland (1987) and former USSR (1988). more>>

Steve Larson is Professor of Viola and Chair for Strings at The Hartt School of the University of Hartford, one of the leading performing arts schools in North America. He is also a founding member of the acclaimed Adaskin String Trio which, since its formation in Montreal in 1994, has become renowned for its interpretations of a vast repertoire ranging from works by Haydn and Mozart to rarely heard treasures by twentieth century giants such as Heitor Villa-Lobos and Alfred Schnittke. In 2003 they
released a recording of the complete String Trios of Beethoven on the Musica Omnia label. Mr. Larson is also a member of one of New England's most exciting new chamber groups, the Axiom Chamber Players, which performs a wide variety of music for strings, flute, piano and regular guest artists.
     In 1997 Steve Larson won second prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition, UK, also receiving the special award for his performance of the commissioned work. He has performed as a guest with the Emerson Quartet, the Lions Gate Trio, the Avery Trio, the Penderecki Quartet, and the Quatuor Arthur-Leblanc, and has performed as a soloist in Canada, the United States, France, Japan, and China. He is a former member of the Alcan String Quartet, Musica Camerata Montréal and l'Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal. Mr. Larson is a native of Regina, Saskatchewan and holds degrees from McGill University, l'Université de Montréal and The Hartt School. He studied violin with Elman Lowe, Howard Leyton-Brown, and Mauricio Fuks, viola with Jutta Puchhammer and Steve Tenenbom, and chamber music with members of the Emerson and Orford String Quartets.
