Polish born Roman Markowicz began his musical education in Warsaw studying piano with Jan Wobazil and later at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music with Prof. Maria Wilkomirska. In 1968 political circumstances forced Mr. Markowicz and his family to leave Poland and resettle in the United States. He continued his studies as scholarship student of solo and chamber music repertory at the Manhattan school of Music with Arthur Balsam. Upon graduation with honors, he received the Harold Bauer Award. He later studied at the Julliard school with Ania Dofrman and for many years he remained there as a stuff pianist.

As a soloist and chamber musician Mr. Markowkicz performed throughout the United States, a number of European countries, and in Brasil.
