Biography

Possessed of a world-class voice with great range and silvery beauty combined with innate acting abilities, Claudia Crouse is a versatile and enigmatic presence on today’s operatic and concert stages. This season Miss Crouse returns to Connecticut Lyric Opera as Juliette in Romeo et Juliette where she appeared last season as Gilda in Rigoletto. Other performances this season include Musetta in La Bohème with Regina Opera in Brooklyn, NY and Nanetta in Falstaff. Highlights of recent performances include the Belleayre Music Festival as The Princess in the chidren’s opera The Frog Prince; Adele, Die Fledermaus; Oscar, Un Ballo in Maschera; Frasquita, Carmen; Lola, Cavalleria rusticana with Regina Opera, Adina, L’Elisir d’Amore and Pamina, Die Zauberflöte with Amato Opera in New York. Additional roles Miss Crouse has enjoyed performing: Zerbinetta, Ariadne auf Naxos; Valencienne, The Merry Widow; Lucia, Lucia di Lammermoor; Marie La Fille du Regiment; Queen of the Night, Die Zauberflöte; Gretel, Hansel and Gretel.

As a concert solo artist Miss Crouse has sung The Messiah with The Queens Orchestral Ensemble, NY, and The Brahms Requiem and Mozart Requiem with Gonzaga University Orchestra and appeared in several concerts with The Hempstead Liederkranz and as featured artist for Nordöstlicher Sängerbund with the Delaware Symphony. Additional oratorio credits include Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and the Fauré Requiem.

Miss Crouse attended Gonzaga University and The New England Conservatory of Music where she performed Norina in Don Pasquale under the baton of John Moriarty. Awards include the Metropolitan Opera Audition Regional Finalist in 1994 and 1997 and the Spokane Allied Young Artist Award in 1994.
