Biography:

Hayden DeWitt, a native of Daytona Beach, divides her time and artistic activities between New York and Florida. She makes her debut with First Coast Opera in the role of Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. In Central Florida, she continues to enjoy a long standing relationship with the Walt Disney Comapny as mezzo-soprano soloist in the Italian Pavilion at Disney's internationally-themed EPCOT Center. Equally at home in opera and musical theater, among her favorite roles are Snoopy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, the tap-dancing Ruby in Dames at Sea, and Luisa in The Fantasticks. Recent opera experience includes a tour of Eastern Europe as Romeo in Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi, as well as numerous other performances of some of the genre' favorite leading men: Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, The Composer in Ariade auf Naxos, Niklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier. Next year, she will try a skir and castanets on for size as she makes her debut appearance in Bizet's Carmen in the title role.
