The St. Paul Church, in conjunction with the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber
Orchestra, and the CT Lyric Opera, will present Faure’s sublime Requiem on
Saturday, February 24 at 6 PM at St. Paul Church in Kensington.
Also in program: “Adagio for Strings” by Samuel Barber, and “Exsultate,
Jubilate” by Mozart. Soloists for the event will be James Shaffran, baritone and
Jurate Svedaite-Waller, soprano.
Making his return to the area as the Baritone soloist is James Shaffran, a
Grammy-award winner and frequent soloist with the National Opera and Maestro
Placido Domingo, who was heard last season as Marullo in CT Lyric Opera’s
Rigoletto.
Opposite him as the Soprano soloist is Jurate Svedaite-Waller, well known to
area audiences, and who most recently performed as Contessa in CT Lyric Opera’s
The Marriage of Figaro.
The performance will be conducted by the St. Paul’s Music Director, Adrian
Mackiewicz, and featuring members of CLO’s chorus and New Britain Chorale, all
will be accompanied by the CT Virtuosi.
